My feet crunched through the underbrush as I ventured into the forest. The farther I go the dimmer it gets, a soulless arched tunnel of dead trees and an increasing carpet of bone dry leaf litter. I watched my feet crush and rustle through them, sending a wave of unease over me. Back home the leaves never fall, the trees never die and the sun illuminates the fields of gold. Deep within the forbidden edges of the forest however, the more I walked forward the sicker I felt. Not even my wings could glow bright enough to give a shimmer of hope within the darkness.
